A gentle but legal guide to how your stories are held

A note from me to you

When you step into the Fern & Feather world, you bring with you stories, memories, and tender details that help me shape a ceremony woven just for you. I treat this information with the same care I give to the rituals I create - respectfully, securely, and with deep intention. 

This notice explains how your information is gathered, used, and protected, in line with the UK GDPR. 

I'm Jacqueline Hiskey, founder and celebrant at Fern & Feather Ceremonies, based in Braintree, Essex. I am the data controller, which simply means I'm responsible for the personal information you share with me.

To craft a ceremony that feels like it grew from the forest floor itself, I may collect: your contact details such as name, email, phone number, address. Details of your ceremony - the stories you tell me, the people you love, the rituals you dream of, and any personal information to shape your ceremony. When you book and pay I create contracts, invoices, and records required for my accounts.  I also collect website interactions such as gentle analytics such as page views or cookies, if enabled. 

I only gather what is needed to create and deliver your ceremony with care. Your details help me to communicate with you about your enquiry or booking. Design, write, and deliver your ceremony. Prepare invoices and essential admin, keep accurate business and financial records, Improve my website and offerings and meet legal obligations. 

Ceremony and booking information is kept up to 7 years for legal and tax reasons, general enquiries up to 2 years. Photos/testimonials are kept while you consent and you may withdraw consent at any time. Your details are stored with intention and care using: password protected devices, encrypted cloud storage, secure email systems and access is limited to me alone. I will never share your information to advertise or for unrelated purposes. 

Under GDPR, you have a right to: access the information I hold about you, request corrections, ask for deletion, in certain circumstances, withdraw consent, object to certain processing and request a portable copy of your data. Just reach out - I'm always happy to help. 

My website uses a few gentle cookies that glow like lanterns to guide your visit and keep the website flowing. You're welcome to switch them on or off.
